Practical IT & Cybersecurity Training
Instructor-led learning | Hands-on technical workshops | Original training materials
Regis Security Consulting focuses on developing practical IT and cybersecurity skills through structured instruction, guided technical demonstrations and hands-on laboratory exercises.
Our training offering is designed for training providers, organisations and individuals seeking to build technical knowledge, develop cybersecurity capabilities and understand how modern IT systems are administered, assessed and secured.
Training Subjects
Networking Fundamentals
Develop an understanding of computer networks, TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP and network troubleshooting.
Practical activities can include network configuration, connectivity testing, traffic inspection and troubleshooting exercises.
Linux Administration
Learn essential Linux administration skills, including command-line operations, users and permissions, package management, system services, networking, logging and basic system hardening.
Exercises use controlled Linux environments to develop confidence with everyday administrative tasks.
Cybersecurity Fundamentals
Explore the principles of information security, common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, access control, network security, risk management and security best practices.
Learning activities connect foundational concepts with practical examples of defensive security.
Vulnerability Assessment & Management
Understand how security vulnerabilities are identified, interpreted, prioritised and addressed.
Practical exercises introduce vulnerability assessment tools, security findings, remediation planning and verification techniques using authorised laboratory targets.
Python & Security Automation
Learn how Python can support systems administration and cybersecurity workflows.
Topics include scripting fundamentals, working with files and structured data, interacting with APIs, processing security findings and developing repeatable automation tasks.
Training Delivery
Instructor-Led Training
Structured sessions that combine clear technical explanations, demonstrations, guided exercises and opportunities for questions and discussion.
Practical Workshops & Technical Laboratories
Hands-on activities designed to help learners apply technical concepts in controlled environments.
Workshops can be adapted to different experience levels, learning objectives and organisational requirements.
Training Materials & Course Development
Development of original educational resources, including:
- Lesson plans and structured course outlines
- Presentation slides and instructor notes
- Practical laboratory guides and exercises
- Learner workbooks and reference materials
- Knowledge checks and practical assessments
Materials can be tailored for training organisations, internal staff development programmes and independent learners.
CompTIA-Aligned Learning
Selected training subjects can be mapped to relevant CompTIA certification objectives, including Network+, Security+ and CySA+, depending on the module and intended learner level.
Training materials are developed independently and can support certification preparation alongside broader practical skills development.
Regis Security Consulting is not presented as an authorised or endorsed CompTIA training partner. Alignment with selected certification objectives does not mean that a module covers every examination requirement.
Learning Through Practical Cybersecurity Engineering
Training content can draw on practical engineering concepts demonstrated through the independently developed Automated Cybersecurity Remediation Platform.
This open-source project brings together security assessment tools, Python-based orchestration, contextual risk analysis, deterministic remediation rules, Ansible automation and independent verification.
It provides examples of how networking, Linux administration, vulnerability management, scripting and security automation connect in a larger technical system.
The platform is a public v1.0.0 source-code baseline and remains pre-production. Training exercises use controlled environments and do not require access to production systems.
